Well today, we went for a walk, the shed was 5 inches under water luckily everything is off the ground.

Victor was in a bad mood because of the rain and didn't want to concentrate on me, so kept walking in front of me and ignoring my orders to back up off my feet lol.

Pip was very good on our walk as usual.

We encountered dogs, cars, cows and puddles today, so that adds to the list of seens and skills.

I couldn't groom Victor today so he was in more of a bad mood and ...

I am 42 and have ridden throughout my life but am a tad nervous when it comes to anything over a canter, lol! I own a riding pony that I love dearly but she is a little small for me.

Look forward to meeting people and hopefully fining myself a Standardbred that I can love and care for!

Well, it's official. Rocky is a sook! Today we were riding in the back hilly paddock and suddenly he froze. Stared into the paddock next door. Over the hill came....... two shetland ponies! He was horrified. Backed up, spun (slowly!) and I could hear his heart thumping. Took ages to unfreeze him and I didn't want to get off cause I need a mounting block to get back on! Eventually he moved but he still kept staring at these ponies who of course hung over the fence to stickybeak at Rocky!

Hi guys, I am at Wallacia, NSW (near Penrith) and I have had my standie Rocky for two weeks. He was adopted from SPPHA. I haven't had horses for ten years but my 11yo started riding a friends pony and "wham" - glad I kept my saddle! Rocky -aka Speedaway- is 7, bay and was supposed to be 14.3hh - more like 15.2 I think. I sent in my application with all sorts of requests - very quiet on ground, must have raced, gelding, not too far away etc. and received a call 2 days later. He was perfect. ...

He is 7 1/2 yrs old, very dark brown, and i'd say just over 15hh. He has THE sweetest nature. I've not yet ridden him. He's had his teeth done, his feet trimmed by Sue, our local barefoot farrier.

Hello there,

I'm Kristy, I live on the Mid North Coast of NSW. I have one Standardbred mare named Silky (Silky Rama).

I got her about 3.5 years ago, rode for about 6 months, then fell pregnant. I had my first ride again just last week (after 3 years!!). Silky was very well behaved and easy to ride for me.

We don't compete or anything, she's really just a pleasure/trail riding horse for me.

Will post some pics later on. Look forward to chatting to everyone.

We were entered in the any other breed over 14hh. It was our very first show and we weren't all that prepared but anyway it was just for the experience so it didn't really matter.
Hi everyone!

my name is Michelle, I'm from Perth and have two rescued standies, an 18yo mare Flicka, and I have just got a 7 year old gelding, Tommy. As soon as I can I am getting another beautiful chestnut gelding that I have fallen in love with:)

With Johnno being on compo with the leg, I decided that I would take Luigi out, so off we went on the Sunday.

As I was carrying the Wintec AP / GP 2000 outside to saddle up Luigi, a thought crossed my mind - Shouldn't you be using the Stock Saddle, I dismissed this thought with a 'hmpt, and flick of the imaginary hand', what possibly could go wrong!

Off I set, I was meeting Joy and Jupiter at the park, and we were only going to do a small ride around the block, because I was having ...

Flighty and Driver came along for one of our rides, which sad to say, wasn't an action packed adventure for them....

Driver and Flighty arrived. Joe and Ducky arrived, and I had Johnno all saddled up ready to go, and I walked out of the house, and with a baseball cap on and no helmet..... Then I realised I had locked myself out...

The only way in was through the doggie door, for a foxie.... I couldn't quite fit through that space... Then I remembered the emergency key, ...

Hey all,

I believe I am the newest member of your forum!

I've been riding horses majority of my life, and had to sell up a few years ago when my father passes away and our acreage got sold. Now a few years later, I'm married, and was desperate to get back into horses, though wanted to get something quiet unlike the norti horses I'd always had in the past.

A few months back my best friend bought a Standardbred. I was with her when she bought him, and the fellow knew nothing of his history, ...

Today I got my big butt into gear and I rode the boy! Yaye hurrah!!! I got the mounting block out and stood over him, then draped myself over him and patted his sides etc. He was pretty good, he fidgeted a couple of times and moved away from the mounting block. I calmly brought him back. Then eventually with OH holding him I quietly swung into the saddle. He looked around at me a bit and tensed slightly, I talked softly to him the whole time.
