Just joined up, it's good that a forum for standard breds is finally up and running. I am Simigirl75's husband, we have one standie and as I'm a learner rider I have to say that they have to be the best breed of horse to learn on.

i am sure you will like it here as well and we are a friendly bunchand my hubby is also a new rider and i will say that standies are the best learner horses they are just wonderful

Hey BCA, not really no, I've just always had an interest in Viking history for some reason.
Bluey, totally agree, if Standies were human they'd be strolling around in surf wear, with mirror sun glasses and a joint hanging out the side of their mouth.

No he doens't look like a viking. Short, broad men with long dense beards and swords don't do it for me. I'd feel like I was with Gimli (the character from Lord of the Rings)
