New Standie owner with rescued Standie.
New Standie owner with rescued Standie.
Just got my first Standie.....Rescue horses so might need some help from other owners.
Told he is 5yrs (not sure how to read there brands), 15.2hh, retired from racing 10 weeks ago, was left in a yard with just water and occassional bits thrown to him hence underweight now, very quiet, did trot and canter in roundyard.
Any suggestions most welcome.
Thank you

Congrats on rescuing you Standie too!
If you can post a picture (instructions on how to do this are at the top of the 'general standardbred chat' section) of his brand then we can find out his info for you.

Re: New Standie owner with rescued Standie.
just thought i'd help you with trying to identify your new four legged friend,
if you jump onto http://www.spphav.org/articles/freeze.html
than once you have figured out numbers,
go to www.harness.org.au and press on the search column and scroll down to "horse search"
type in the horses brand numbers in (both top and bottom brands) eg S3981396
it will show you the horse's race name, breeding and race record.
hope this helps you with.
cheers

"You should probably know that I’m breaking the rules right now. Well, not technically, since he said I was never to walk through his door again, and I came in the window… But, still, the intent was clear."
