Some may know me from other forums? I know Balldrick does
Okay well a bit about me and my OH. We own one 9 year old bay standie gelding King (Ring King) which is my hubby's first horse. King will never be sold and has a home with us for the rest of his life. My OH loves him to bits!
My OH is only a beginner rider and hasn't done much with King even though we've had him for three years. Something we aim to fix in the near future when we move and buy our own property again. Currently we're agisting which we're not fond of.
Okay the rest of the horses we have are:
Zari almost 7 yr old bay Anglo mare (I only had her when OH met me!)
Buddy 2 yr old buckskin appendix Quarter horse (50/50 tb) gelding
Saxon a six month old palomino (carries silver gene and cream gene) American Saddlebred/ Stockhorse x
Scarlet an 11 yr old Aussie type pony currently leased out as a confidence booster for a young girl.
Mia an 9 year old arab/waler silver bay mare leased out to a friend as a broodie.
(We currently have two appendix Quarter horses that we're finalizing the sale of that are at the breakers).
We also own a black cat called Ebony and two dogs - Hannah a mastiff cross and Kara a pure ridgeback. All are around three years old and a big part of our family (then so are all our animals hehe). .
We currently live in Townsville and are selling our five acre block soon. We sold our house early last year as we knew we wanted to move when we had the opportunity (OH is in the army). We also acclumiated more horses so we had to agist as five acres wasn't practical. No regrets as our horses are part of our family.
My OH and I are really excited that we can now move. We'll be moving down to Maryborough or nearby in January. I have family already there and as I grew up in Burpengary North of Brissie, I'm excited about moving down south. I've missed living down there for quite some years!
Oh I've had standie in my family years (owned by an ex) years ago. I've also helping a few people in the past with training their standies. I'm no expert but I know enough of the basics to get them going under saddle. Patience and understanding being the most important.
My OH and I love Standies and think they're still too under valued and would love to see more out there and being treated fairly.
Anyway I've prattled on
I wanted to make up for lurking for the last couple of weeks. My OH will be joining soon. I've made it easy for him as he only has to do a brief into and post this link Cheers
Simone

"You should probably know that I’m breaking the rules right now. Well, not technically, since he said I was never to walk through his door again, and I came in the window… But, still, the intent was clear."
